虽然2024年末全球经济增长表现稳健，各国通胀率逐步回落至央行目标范围，但随着关税频繁宣布及市场波动加剧，整体前景趋于疲弱。
美国经济已显露放缓迹象，政策不确定性上升，市场信心快速恶化。欧元区2025年初增长乏力，制造业持续低迷。中国2024年底增长强劲，但最新数据显示增速有所放缓。油价自1月以来大幅下跌，加元近期则因美元走弱而升值。
加拿大经济正在走软。关税不确定性打击了消费者和企业信心，第一季度的消费、住宅投资和企业支出均出现疲软。劳动力市场复苏也受到阻碍，3月就业人数下降，企业招聘意愿减弱，工资增幅进一步放缓。
3月CPI通胀率为 2.3%，虽低于2月，但仍高于1月时预测的 1.8%。主要受商品价格回升、GST/HST临时减免结束等因素影响。从4月起，因取消消费者碳税，CPI将受到一年期的下行拉动。低油价也将在短期内缓解通胀压力，但供应链受阻与关税成本仍可能推高部分价格。
央行表示，将密切评估经济疲软带来的通缩压力，以及关税和供应冲击带来的通胀上行风险。政策目标仍是维护价格稳定，并在动荡时期保障公众对货币政策的信心。加拿大央行表示，货币政策无法解决贸易不确定性，但有责任维护国内物价稳定。

UBC大学在温西压箱底地块Wesbrook Place South启动土地使用更新计划，拟将原本容量翻倍，加码打造高密度、可持续发展的全新大学社区。
UBC日前公布Wesbrook Place社区规划更新方案，计划将该社区南区（Wesbrook Place South）打造成集高密度住房、公园绿地、社区商业和多样化交通于一体的全新生活核心。此举将使原本仅能容纳1,800人的区域扩容至可容纳 4,600人、2,100套住宅，住房和人口规模激增 150%以上。
1.最后黄金地块 全面提容
Wesbrook Place自2007年起开发，原为研究设施和森林区域，至今已完成北部多个街区建设。截至目前，社区已有约5,400套住宅已建、在建或获批，可容纳11,600名居民。
若按最初规划，社区总人口上限为12,500人，已接近饱和。而新方案将整体扩容至约7,500套住宅，未来最多可容纳16,200名居民。
2. 多层次住房支持教职员工与学生
新计划将显著增加租赁住房比例，并优先提供：
40% 为普通租赁住房
25% 为低于市价的教职工住房
15% 为在校学生和职工的市场价住房
此举响应UBC住房行动计划，为校园社区提供真正可负担、可持续的居住选择。
